decided on a trip to Curry Mahal last night. For those unaware they now do happy hour from 6.30 till 8.15. If you haven't tried their chicken chat starter, get yourself up there PDQ. It's a real treat. We're very lucky here with the selection of bars and restaurants. We frequent Posh Palace occasionally, but Curry Mahal is our favourate. I'm still drooling today but as I brought home what I couldnt eat it's in the fridge waiting for me.
Douglas I always say your curry house is like your spiritual home. Lots of curry houses, lots of churches. I love curry houses but even though we're on a limited income and rarely go out (My hubby is anglo indian and we both cook,a mean curry) we love going out when we can afford it. We love the welcome, the ambience and the smells. We usually go with friends and it's celebration. It's not just food. We share wine and enjoy our nights. Food isn't just about eating it's a celebration. Gosh, I'm waxing lyrical, and going out saves me making a curry here. xx
the 4 course is 9.95. They do a lunch menu 7.90 for 3 courses but the evening happy hour is a good time for us
thanks Mazza - sounds excellent value - will be visiting when we're over in 2 weeks time.
hope you enjoy it. We love it. We don't go out often but we also like YA GE facing Chinomart. I had the first Chinese meal I've really enjoyed there a few weeks ago. It was chicken in a spicey garlic sauce. There were 4 of us and combining all our meals from the various menu del dia our total bil , including drinks for 3 courses was 37 euros as there's a free bottle of wine for every 2 customers and we also had 3 beers. Exellent value. If you look about La Marina there are lots of very reasonable eating places. Have a nice stay in God's little piece of heaven. I forgot to say Curry Mahal also gave us a free bottle of cava when we were celebrating our friends 65th birthday and there were only 4 of nus and we didn't spend a fortun (I think it was 65euros)
Curry Mahal is our favourite as well, very friendly staff and delicious food, well worth a visit, we have recommended them many times.
Both places are very good, but as a person who only buys a take away I am very aware of the difference in size of the containers you get. From Posh Palace there is plenty for 2 nights in the container, but from Curry Mahal the portion is much smaller, hence second night you end up with a very small meal. But food is of equal quality.
